The
Professional Pet Sitter
- by Lori & Scott Mangold. Written by a pair of pros, this
book may be the single most valuable resource a new pet sitter
can have. Highly recommended. |
Start
Your Own Pet Business and More
(The Startup Series) by Entrepreneur Press, E. F. Sandlin, and Cheryl
Kimball. An excellent book, well-organized and easy to understand.
Has a fun section on the care of exotic pets. Also talks about alternative
businesses such as doggie day care, grooming, and pet walking. |
Pet
Sitting for Profit
by Patti J. Moran. Probably the best known pet sitting book out
there. Very helpful with business practices and procedures. |
Dogs
For Dummies
by Gina Spadafori. Exactly what it sounds like - an excellent introduction
to choosing, training, and living with dogs. |
Cats
for Dummies
by Gina Spadafori, and Dr. Paul D. Pion. For some reason it just
makes me laugh to see that it only took one person to write the
dog book, but two for the cats. |
50
Simple Ways to Pamper Your Dog
by Arden Moore. Sounds silly but this is a great little book on
how to become best friends with any dog.
There
is, of course, the companion volume,
50
Simple Ways to Pamper Your Cat. I'm surprised
they stopped at 50. |
The
Doctors Book of Home Remedies for Dogs and Cats
by Prevention Magazine. This book is a life saver. From Acne and
Aggression to Worms and Wounds, this is chock-full of helpful hints,
good advice, and great ideas that will not only save your sanity,
but possibly an unnecessary run to the vet. |
The
ASPCA Complete Guide to Pet Care
by David L. Carroll. An excellent reference for the everyday necessities
of taking care of our furry friends. |
